When looking at these two programs, T25 vs Insanity Max 30, you will see a lot of similarities and might think these two programs are more or less the same. But once you get into the programs, you get a very different tone from Shaun T. Depending on your fitness level and goals, one program will be better suited for you. They’re both great programs and both will cut inches from your.
When you do a Shaun T workout, you can take a few things for granted: Your sweat will pour, your heart will thunder in your chest, your muscles will feel like they’re on fire, and (likely more than once) you’ll question whether you’ll be able to cross the finish line.In short, Shaun T’s workouts are tough. Some might even say insanely tough. But they’re tough with a purpose: To get you in the best shape of your life. What Are the Key Differences Between FOCUS T25 and INSANITY?As mentioned above, both INSANITY and FOCUS T25 offer high-intensity workouts designed to torch fat, enhance muscular definition, increase endurance, and boost overall athleticism. But they go about it in different ways and are designed with different audiences in mind. TimeThe first and most obvious distinction between FOCUS T25 and INSANITY is the duration of the workouts. With INSANITY, you can expect to sweat for between 40 and 60 minutes most days of the week, and longer on days that include an additional core workout. With FOCUS T25, you’ll be done in 25 minutes every time.Does that mean FOCUS T25 workouts are easier?
Not necessarily. It all depends on your current fitness level (more on that in a bit). IntensityINSANITY has the edge in this category. It’s one of our most advanced programs, and it’s designed for people who are already in good shape and want to take their fitness to the next level. It is, in a word, grueling. So heed the warning on the label: “If you can get through it, it will get you in the best shape of your life. But you must check with your physician before starting this program.”That’s not to say that FOCUS T25 isn’t tough, or that you won’t have to dig deep in order to complete each and every workout.
It’s just designed for a different fitness level. If you’re an “intermediate” exerciser, you’ll be just as challenged by FOCUS T25 as an “advanced” exerciser will be by INSANITY. Workout DesignAt first glance, INSANITY is the definition of, which alternates between bursts of all-out effort and brief periods of rest.Except INSANITY takes that concept a bit further, making the work periods longer and the rest periods shorter than in a typical interval workout. That’s why we call it “Max Interval Training.” It’s HIIT to the extreme. The cardio sessions in FOCUS T25 embrace the concept of HIIT as well, but unlike INSANITY, the program also includes strength workouts, so there’s more of a balance between cardio and resistance training. As a result, you’ll need more equipment to do FOCUS T25, which brings us to another FAQ. Can I Do Either Program Without Weights?Since FOCUS T25 includes strength training, you’ll need resistance equipment to do it. We recommend dumbbells, but will also do the trick.Either way, you’ll need a few levels of resistance (i.e., a range of different weights or bands) in order to effectively work different muscle groups.INSANITY, by contrast, requires nothing more than your own body weight.
And because it’s such an intense program, that’s more than enough to help you build muscle, increase definition, and incinerate fat.Trust us — you don’t want to be weighed down during INSANITY, which requires (and helps increase) strength, endurance, explosive power, and agility. Is INSANITY Better Than FOCUS T25?That’s a bit like asking if a marathon is better than a 10K.If you’re relatively new to running and have never logged more than seven or eight miles at a time, you shouldn’t race 26.2 of them, as that might very well wreck you. First, do a 10K, and then build your way up to a marathon. The advice is similar to FOCUS T25 and INSANITY.

Insanity VS Focus T25 Focus T25 and Insanity. I have raved about both! Focus T25 is Beachbody’s newest program, so of course I am getting a ton of inquiries! Amazing results in only 25 minutes a day?
Why the heck not!?Oh, but then there’s Insanity. You already own it and you KNOW it works because the success stories are everywhere! So why not go with what you have? The problem with Insanity is that everyone thinks they can do it. Sure, physically, you probably can. But Insanity will be NOTHING like you expect. I remember my first Insanity workout like it was yesterday (over a year ago!) I was half way through the warm up and ready to be done.
The warmup ended and I figured we had to be half way through the program or more. I looked at the clock and there was over 30 minutes remaining! Yea, not fun. Insanity is PHYSICALLY and MENTALLY grueling! If you have the willpower to never quit, despite every muscle in your body telling you to Insanity just might be for you 😉My Insanity Results:My Focus T25 Results:Who are these programs marketed towards?Insanity was created for individuals who want an intense cardiovascular exercise program that is not dance orientated. It has plyometric based movements which are meant to shred fat from your body relatively quickly (63 days.) Insanity is plyometric heavy meaning you will be doing lots of jumping and up/down movements. Most of the discs in Insanity contain a warm up, two cool down/stretches, and 25-30 minutes of HIIT workouts.
You are encouraged to get quick water breaks throughout the program.Focus T25 was created as a high intensity cardio vascular exercise program with some added weight training. This program is only 5 days a week, 25 minutes a day which makes it ideal for individuals working full time, including mothers.
Focus T25 is perfect for the individual who wants to get in an effective workout on limited time. You are not encouraged to take any water breaks but it is only 25 minutes so every second counts!
Modifications:One major drawback of Insanity is the fact that there is no modifier. If you are unable to continue with a move, you must either walk/jog in place or take a break. If you are not already in good shape, you may very well spends lots of time jogging in place.Focus T25 has a modifier (Tania) for every move in the program. The modifications are great for individuals who need that time to catch a break while still focusing on the movements, or for individuals with bad knees. Each modification is low impact and your feet will never have to leave the ground at once. Workout Equipment:Insanity does not require any workout equipment.
It is just you and your body, for the full 63 days.Focus T25 requires dumbbells, or a resistance band (which comes with the program.) Schedule:Both programs have two phases (with the option to purchase a third phase for Focus T25.) In both programs, phase one prepares your body for phase two where the workouts are higher intensity. The difference is that Insanity increases to a much greater length of time (50-60 minutes,) whereas the workouts in Focus T25 remain at 25 minutes. If you do not have the time or energy to workout at high intensity for 45 minutes to an hour, Insanity is not going to be your friend. Trainer’s Style:If you are doing Insanity, go into it expecting to hear lots of yelling. Shaun T uses more of a drill instructor approach where he is yelling at you to dig deeper, squat lower, and jump higher.During Focus T25, Shaun T takes on more of a personal trainer approach. He is focused on getting you to pay close attention to form so that you are able to achieve maximum results in the short period of time.
Rather than yell at you to “pick up the speed,” he will be instructing you to “slow it down” and really focus on your form.Focus T25:. 10 weeks. 25 minutes a day/5 days a week.
HIIT workouts, burnouts, resistance band training. 2 phases; Alpha and Beta. Alpha focuses in introducing form, speed, and agility. Beta phase increases difficulty.
You can add on a third phase (Gamma.). Alpha phase is 5 weeks. Beta phase is 5 weeks. Little to no breaks.
No recovery weekInsanity:. 1st month is 35-45 minutes long. Second month is 55 minutes long. Recovery week between phase one and two. Zero equipment needed. Lots of high jumps, HIIT workouts, and horizontal and lateral drills. Water breaks; 3 minutes on, 30 second break, repeat.Which program do I personally recommend for beginnings?Hands down, Focus T25.
For months I have dubbed Insanity as my “soul mate program.” But if I am being honest with you, I’m not sure I will ever do the program again. As someone who loves a challenging program but is super busy day in and day out, 25 minutes of Focus T25 goodness if PERFECT for me! It gets the job done, and I feel just as challenged as I did during Insanity. If anything, I am more challenged because I am pushing harder for a longer period of time rather than dying out half way through the program. How to get the best for your buck:If you order through a Beachbody coach, you will receive a bonus disc for both programs.
You will not receive these discs when ordering through the infomercial. I have made it easy for you and included the links below:T25:Insanity:Still need help deciding? Feel free to leave a comment below, email me, or find me on Facebook.
